We do not operate user accounts, do not build behavioural profiles of individuals, and do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, in any circumstance.
2. What stays on your device
Several features work by storing data locally in your browser rather than on a server. This data is not transmitted to us and we cannot read it.
- Saved guides — your reading list.
- Reading progress — which guides you have finished and your position in each learning path.
- Theme preference — dark or light.
- Consent choice — so we do not ask on every page.
- Session page count — used only to show you how many pages you have read in this visit.
Clearing it is entirely in your handsClear your browser's site data for this domain and all of the above disappears immediately. There is no copy anywhere else.
3. Calculators and models
Every interactive model on this site runs as JavaScript in your browser. Salaries, balances, debts, health details and business figures you enter are computed locally and discarded when you close the tab. There is no API endpoint that receives them, which means there is nothing to breach, subpoena or leak.
4. Advertising and cookies
Fiscora is funded by display advertising served through Google AdSense. Third-party advertising technology behaves differently from our own site and it is worth being precise about it.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
- Advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads and use cookies or similar identifiers.
- Personalisation is consent-gated. Until you accept, we instruct the ad platform to request non-personalised ads only.
- Non-personalised ads still use limited data — such as approximate location and general page context — for frequency capping, reporting and fraud prevention.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through Google's Ads Settings, and out of many third-party vendors through the industry opt-out pages operated by the Network Advertising Initiative and Digital Advertising Alliance. Withdrawing consent on this site is as simple as clearing site data, which resets the consent banner.
Ad blockers are fineWe would rather you read the research than feel obliged to see the advertising. There is no paywall, no nag screen and no degraded experience if you block ads.
5. Cookie categories in use
| Category | Set by | Purpose | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Fiscora (local storage) | Theme, consent choice, saved list | No |
| Analytics | Analytics provider | Aggregate traffic measurement | Where required by law |
| Advertising | Google AdSense and partners | Ad delivery, frequency capping, measurement | Yes for personalisation |
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or erase personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold so little, most requests resolve quickly.
- Newsletter dataUnsubscribe removes you from sending immediately; ask and we will delete the record entirely.
- Contact messagesWe will export or delete correspondence on request.
- Local device dataYou control this directly — we cannot access it, and clearing site data removes it.
- Advertising identifiersThese are controlled through the ad platform's own settings, not by us.
Submit any request through the contact form with the privacy topic selected. Statutory response window is thirty days; in practice we reply within a few days.
7. Children
This site is intended for adults making financial decisions. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we do not direct any content or advertising at them.
8. Changes to this policy
Material changes are noted in the revision log below and, where they affect consent, the consent banner is re-presented. We do not make quiet changes to privacy terms.
